All mechanical systems do need servicing at regular interval’s in-order for them to give good time keeping and our service centre provides this in house.

The Automatic Movement is a mechanical movement comprising of over 70 components, it operates by means of an oscillating weight, which “rotates” backwards and forwards with the motion of the wrist. This action energises the mainspring and keeps the watch going.  As this is purely a mechanical motion and therefore subject to certain outside influences such as temperature and the mount of movement that the watch experiences, the time keeping is not as accurate as that of quartz.  In fact depending upon the calibre of the movement, most Swiss suppliers quote an average timekeeping tolerance of between –5 to +20 seconds per day.

The motions of daily life are sufficient in themselves to wind up an automatic watch.  However, there are times when we are (motion non-active,) i.e working on the computer, sat down resting, or the watch is not worn for over a day, it will stop however it can be re-started by winding ( approx 30/40 times ) this will start the watch and give it some reserve power.
